An escape game on the break-up of the EU
The project is fully funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
With this action-oriented form we want to motivate students to think and debate about the European Union, its
advantages and disadvantages. To motivate them to become active citizens, which includes participation in elections.
Who is the project for?
The project will run from January 2023 to April 2024 and consists of three interlinked parts.
The main target group is male and female students of vocational secondary schools, business academies and
secondary vocational schools aged 17-18 who will become first-time voters in the European elections
who live in one of the Euroregions selected for the project in the Czech Republic
Czech Republic (Praděd, Egrensis and Elbe).
Regional meeting
The project culminated in 3 regional meetings – in Ústí nad Labem, Karlovy Vary and Krnov. The meetings were attended by students from local high schools and local politicians and activists also accepted our invitation.
Regional meeting in Karlovy Vary, 3 April 2024:
In the beautiful premises of the Císařské Lázně we created a space for a very interesting discussion with students, Deputy Governor Vojtěch Franta and Councillor Anna Bernátková. Together, we focused mainly on topics concerning the Karlovy Vary Region, such as young people leaving to study or work elsewhere or fair transformation.
Regional meeting in Ústí nad Labem, 4 April 2024:
We met with students from the Ústí region at the Winston Churchill Library, where a really fruitful debate was sparked between young representatives from the political ranks, who were able to really connect with the students. We were delighted that local politicians who got into office through civic activism – Kateřina Stojanová and Lukáš Blažej – were able to participate in the debate. With the students, we discussed the impact of the EU on local politics, the problems of Ústí and how to solve them, and much more. Thank you to everyone who got involved.
Regional meeting in Krnov, 17 April 2024:
We held our last meeting in Krnov at the Good Place. Students from local high schools were able to meet face to face with the big names of their region – Zuzana Klusova and Radim Ivan. We talked about the prospects for careers in the Moravian-Silesian Region, what a fair transformation looks like, what we can expect from Greendeal and why we should be part of the EU at all.
After all the debates, we asked the students to participate in the last activity, where they told us in smaller groups what they thought an ideal city, school, education, what the Czech Republic is good at or what steps they would choose to take to protect the climate.
We strongly believe that all regional meetings were beneficial for all parties and we look forward to future similar events!
What activities have we planned in the project?
The project will run from January 2023 to April 2024 and consists of three interlinked parts.
