2018 – Increasing the tourist potential of the Mtzkheta-Mtianeti region by supporting regional products and local traditions
Agora, together with the Georgian partner RDA Mtskheta – Mtianeti, implemented a one-year project supported by the Czech Development Agency aimed at supporting sustainable tourism in the mountainous region of Georgia.
Local residents were involved, informed about the project and discussed with them the locations that can be shown and marked on the map for tourists. This was followed by mapping and collecting records, preparing the website www.experiencecaucasus.com and fb. Leaflets with map routes and texts for them were prepared, which will be printed and sent to all guesthouses. The Association of Small Producers of Traditional Gift Items, which was established under a previous CRA-supported project, was supported in marketing. A seminar was also held for those interested in opening small family guesthouses and for current guesthouse owners and other interested parties. It was held in Mtskheta and was attended by I. Bursíková, Mayor of Vrchlabí J. Sobotka.
